A composition for solo piano.
This romantic, moody piano waltz could grace a John le
Carré spy thriller. It’s a companion piece to Reflections in
the House of Mirrors.

The European piano melody, drifting street sounds and
ambient textures evoke the wistful yearning of a young
woman lost in a dream: as she dreams of dancing with her
sweetheart sailor-boy, beneath the lamplight of a cobbled
street in Perth, 1942.

– Story –
(As the pretty piano waltz picks up tempo), Mirla imagines
putting on her fern-green dress, her best red shoes and rouge.
On Civvy Street, by the bandstand, Arthur waits; beneath his
sailor hat and flaming red hair he wears a crooked grin.
Joining her now, close at her hip and taking her small hand in
his, their footsteps and heartbeats skip along to a Waltz on Civvy
Street.
